All astronomers – whether amateurs or professionals – will need a few accessories to go along with their telescopes if they want to maximize their experience. When you buy telescopes, the most essential accessories are often included in the package. These are the accessories for keeping your telescope safe and also enhancing the viewing experience.

• Carrying case or cover: the better telescopes will come with a soft carrying case where you can also store your telescope while not in use. It is worth it to pay a bit extra for telescopes with carrying cases rather than just a cover. Ideally, you should have both so you don’t have to put your telescope away after every use.
• Eye pieces: you won’t be able to use telescopes without an eyepiece. But the basic eye piece included with your telescope may not be the best one for the experience. You can generally buy from the manufacturer eyepieces in different powers and width fields.
• Optical finder scopes: A lot of telescopes now come with a red dot finder, also called an optical finder scope. These included finder scopes are usually very basic and you’d be impressed at the difference that a high-quality finder scope can make.
• Go To Systems: The higher quality telescopes are now computerized to help you find objects through a digital encoder which tells you how to move your telescope. If your telescope has just a basic Go To system or doesn’t have one at all, you can buy an advanced Go To System and Digital Setting Circles.
